• Usage data: Call history metadata (timestamps, duration, participants) — not the media content itself.
• AI usage logs: Records of AI feature usage (transcription, translation, TTS) used for accurate billing.
• Chat messages: In-call text chat is stored temporarily to power call history and transcript review.
• Technical data: Browser/device type, IP address (for rate limiting and fraud prevention), and basic analytics events via Swetrix (privacy-first, cookie-free).

2How We Use Your Information

We use collected data exclusively to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the service
• Authenticate your account and secure access
• Calculate and process AI credit billing
• Show call history, chat logs, and transcription records to you
• Send essential service emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing alerts)
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• Improve and develop new features based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising.

3Data Storage & Retention

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records).

• Video media: WebRTC calls are peer-to-peer — media streams do not pass through our servers and are never stored by us.
• Chat messages & transcripts: Stored and visible in your call history. You may delete individual calls from your history at any time.
• Billing records: Retained for 7 years as required by tax and accounting regulations.

4Sharing Your Information

We share your data only with the following trusted sub-processors, strictly as needed to operate the service:

• OpenAI — speech transcription, translation, and TTS processing. Audio/text is sent securely and governed by OpenAI's data processing agreement.
• Payment processor — billing and payment handling. We do not store full card details on our servers.
• Swetrix — privacy-first, cookieless analytics. No personal identifiers are sent.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our service or its users.

5Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data:

• HTTPS-only with HSTS enforced
• Content Security Policy (CSP) and secure cookie flags
• Passwords hashed with industry-standard algorithms
• Peer-to-peer video with WebRTC encryption (DTLS/SRTP)

7Cookies & Analytics

We use Swetrix for analytics — it is privacy-first, cookieless, and GDPR-compliant. No personal identifiers or fingerprints are tracked.

8Children's Privacy

Makarena V2 is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

9Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via email or a notice within the app. Continued use of Makarena V2 after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
